Trader Joe’s is an American chain of grocery stores. It was founded in 1958 in Los Angeles as “Pronto Markets”. The name changed to “Trader Joe’s” in 1967. Since 2015, it is a major competitor in “fresh format” grocery stores in the United States. Today, there are about 500 Trader Joe’s stores nationwide in 42 states. Almost 200 of these stores are located in California, which is the state that Trader Joe’s is most famous. There are almost 40,000 employees that are currently working at all Trader Joe’s stores. Trader Joe’s describes itself as “your neighborhood grocery store” by selling 4,000 items at each store. Many items carry their own unique brand names. A discount at a Trader Joe’s store takes place rarely because this grocery chain adopts the principle of selling items to customers at the best prices at all times, whenever possible. So most of the time, the items are already at their cheapest price.
Trader Joe’s Jobs
If you want to work in one of the largest grocery store chains in the country, Trader Joe’s is the ideal place for you. We are sure that you will work with great efficiency at this store chain, since each store is managed really efficiently itself! It is known that there is more “overstaffing” than “understaffing” at Trader Joe’s locations. This reduces each store associate’s amount of responsibilities at any given time, which allows store associates to deal with customers in a more attentive, more constructive way. There are more “middle managers” at each Trader Joe’s store. Contrary to what people might think at first glance, this situation makes the store a more relaxing workplace for entry-level employees because there are more management team members to talk to in case of any discontentment.
