As a company policy that represents Italian generosity, free breadsticks are offered to guests at all Olive Garden restaurants. Most of the time, there is an adequate breadstick supply at the restaurants. However, when a restaurant runs out of breadsticks, things at the restaurant seem to become a bit difficult for employees. According to multiple team members and shift leaders at Olive Garden restaurants, guests at Olive Garden are nice in general. Yet, in the past, multiple Olive Garden employees have reported that the worst shifts of their professional lives were the day when the Olive Garden restaurant ran out of breadsticks. According to their reports, people at the restaurant suddenly became rude and started to yell at employees when there were no breadsticks left at the restaurant, and it was hard to manage the hostile environment at the restaurant. It is also worth noting that more than 99% of the time, the breadstick supply is adequate and thus the environment in the Olive Garden restaurant is friendly, so this issue is not a big deal to worry about.
