Grocery retailer Lidl US announced a plan to offer all part-time workers health care coverage. The Virginia-based chain stated that 1,200 part-time employees in all 70 stores will be able to buy medical coverage starting from Jan. 1, 2020. Lidl US said it plans to invest up to $9 million in the first year the medical benefit is offered and continue the investment as the company grows in the United States. In addition to medical coverage, part-time employees will have dental and vision care coverage too.

Job Positions & Salaries

­Store Associate: You will be the face of Lidl to the customers. You will promote the Lidl culture of incredible customer service with a high-quality shopping experience. You should be a team player ready to be cross-trained in all aspects of the Lidl store. You will be expected to demonstrate Lidl’s company values of recognition, respect, responsibility and trust. Your starting wage will be $12/hour.

Prerequisite: None.

Store Supervisor: You will ensure that freshness, cleanliness, and quality control standards are met, by supervising the Store Associates. You will be trained to perform all Store Associate tasks, and you will lead the Store Associate team by example. Your starting wage will be $16.50/hour.

Prerequisite: 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience.

Store Management: You will lead all operational aspects of your store. You will make decisions that impact the whole business. You will lead and develop your team to deliver exceptional customer service. Your starting salary will be $66,500 per year.
