The company’s founders were Pierre de Beaumont and his wife Mary Deland Kelley, who named the company after their farm. Then, they sold their company to Quaker Oats Company in 1980. Brookstone stores are generally found in airports. In 2018 the company announced the closing of its stores in malls and focusing on its website instead.
