Barcelo’s is a fast-casual chicken restaurant chain based in South Africa. Portuguese-style, authentically-prepared traditional flame-grilled chicken is the major menu item of Barcelo’s. The first Barcelo’s restaurant was founded in 1993 in Pretoria. Today, there are over 80 Barcelo’s restaurants in South Africa and over 50 additional restaurants in 20 other countries including the UK, Canada, and several countries in Africa.

Job Descriptions
Cashier
You will take orders from customers and transfer the order to the kitchen for the meal to be prepared in a timely fashion. You will be standing at the front counter of the restaurant, so you should pay attention to your appearance as your clothes should be clean and neat. You should also keep the front counter clean by regularly cleaning the area. No education or experience is needed for this position, however, it is important to have good communication skills as this job position involves a lot of communication with customers.
Kitchen Manager
If you would like to apply for a kitchen manager position at Barcelo’s, you should have sufficient restaurant experience combined with a decent level of education, because you will be responsible for calculating the food cost and doing the day-end, controlling stock levels, supervising the restaurant staff, ensuring several quality standards, developing budgets with department heads, ensuring good operation for all the equipment in the restaurant, ensuring safety and emergency practices, and maintaining positive employee relations in general.
